- Slice the tomatoes into ½ inch thick pieces
- Mix the flour, cornmeal, spices, and salt together in a mixing bowl.
- Dip the tomatoes into the flour mixture and dust off any excess. Set tomatoes aside.
- Whisk egg and milk into the flour mixture and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Heat up the oil in a pan or pot to 350 degrees.
- Dip the tomatoes into the batter and drip off any excess and start placing them in the hot oil. Cook for 1-2 on each side.
- Remove from the oil and place on a resting rack to cool down. Season with salt.
- Serve with sauce (I recommend the Blue Crab Remoulade) and garnish with paprika and chopped green onions
