Holiday Recipes from My Home to Yours
The holiday excitement is in the air, the stores are full, the carols are on replay, and everyone is ready for Santa’s landing. It’s a fun time to spend with family and friends sharing something delicious to eat and drink and most importantly, sharing a moment together .
The kitchen has always been a happy place for me since my young days. I always loved the big dinner preparations, the turkey brining, the slow roasted pork, the fun appetizers, and of course the sweets and cookies. I’d like to share some fun holiday treats that I’ll be whipping up this year. They’re fun for the kiddos on the nice list or the adults on the naughty list.
Here’s an easy recipe that I like to make on Christmas and New Years morning. It’s a fun twist on French Toast with the addition of Fruity Pebbles cereal. It is a crowd pleaser for all ages!
COOKIES! – The holidays are a time for cookies. Cookies for Santa, cookies to share with the neighbors and friends, cookies to snack on with Eggnog, cookies, nom nom nom nom nom.
One of my favorite cookies is an Alfajor, these delicious buttery cookies are prominent in Peru and Argentina. It’s basically two shortbread cookies that are stuffed with dulce de leche and then dusted with lots of powder sugar.
This sweet dough recipe can be used for Alfajores and many other types of cookies. Best part..only four ingredients!
I hope these recipes make their way to your table. You can follow me on Instagram and YouTube for more recipes and demonstration videos.
Wishing you and your family a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season and a Prosperous New Year!
